For Shopify merchants selling across borders—especially within the EU and to the UK—the EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification) number is a critical requirement. Without a valid EORI number, your shipments can be delayed at customs, resulting in fines and unhappy customers.
Verifying EORI numbers manually is slow and prone to human error. Every minute spent copy-pasting numbers into the EU’s database is a minute stolen from growing your business. Furthermore, manual checks don’t stop fraudulent or invalid numbers from reaching your fulfillment team, leading to shipping nightmares and customs rejection.
Automate your compliance. Our app integrates directly into your Shopify checkout, validating EORI numbers instantly against official European Commission databases. If the number is invalid, the order is flagged or blocked, ensuring only compliant B2B orders enter your workflow.
1
A dedicated EORI field appears at your Shopify checkout or on the cart page for B2B customers.
2
The app instantly queries the European Commission EORI database to verify the number’s authenticity.
3
If the number is valid, the order proceeds. If invalid, the customer is prompted to correct it immediately.
4
The validated EORI number is saved directly to the order notes, ready for your shipping labels and customs forms.

EORI stands for Economic Operators Registration and Identification. It is a unique ID used by customs authorities within the European Union and the UK to track shipments between businesses. Having a valid one is mandatory for B2B customs clearance.
Currently the app validates EU EORI numbers only. UK (GB) EORI validation is on our roadmap.
Once validated, the app automatically attaches the EORI number to the Shopify Order notes or as a custom attribute, making it easily accessible for your fulfillment team or shipping apps.
